Resource Library

A comprehensive choice of books, videos, journals and articles on Learning Disabilities and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder are available for loan or use at the Center. Staff and volunteers will assist in helping choose the most appropriate material. A Provincial or Library membership of $20.00 per year is required for the borrowing of material.

Resource Facilitation

Resources are provided to individuals and families about issues relating to Learning Disabilities and Attention Deficit Disorder. This could include strategies for coping with behaviour problems, self esteem, stress management, social skills, and coping strategies.

Cost: Free/ LDA membership encouraged / donations gratefully accepted.

Advocacy Training

Assistance is provided to help individuals and parents advocate by providing them with information about their rights and responsibilities in the workplace or school system.

JobFit

Job Fit is a comprehensive employment program designed to help adults with, or with suspected learning disabilities and/or ADHD develop the skills and strategies they need to find meaningful work. The major goals of the Job Fit program are to help individuals gain confidence, self-awareness, and self-advocacy skills, and to help them develop the necessary strategies and knowledge needed to find and retain gainful, personally rewarding employment. The participants who complete the program leave with resources and tools to help them face challenges they may encounter in the workforce. Clients also leave with an action plan to help them take the necessary steps towards reaching their employment-related goals.
